Dear diary: Why aren’t there any more cinemas like this? You know what I mean, the small and cosy ones that invest in a special ambiance instead of 3D effects? That screen movies which are as non-American as Michael Haneke, so anti-heroic and true to life? It may be easy to find the next blockbuster at the multiplex, but come here to find life and art.
Real emotions, real characters, and real life are at the forefront of the auteur movies in the Sacher. It’s currently showing “La nostre Vita” by Daniel Luchetti, who took Cannes by storm this year. The whole thing comes full circle with Nanni Moretti. With films like “Dear Diary” or “Bianca”, Nanni Moretti is an institution in Italy. You are probably still wondering: Why Sacher? It’s quite simply Moretti’s favourite cake.
