Dubai International Airport is one of the most important air traffic connection points between Asia and Europe. There are three terminals; international flights arrive and depart from terminal 1. The airport is particularly known and popular for its huge duty free shopping area. It is located approximately 5 km outside the city centre.

Most hotels offer their guests free airport transfers upon arrival and departure. Airport buses depart every 30 minutes to Deira (bus 401) and Bur Dubai (bus 402). Tickets cost about 3dh. More convenient are the Airport Transport Taxis. A journey to the city centre costs about 35dh – always depending on traffic.
