Exploring Dubai on the water – and enjoying it. There are plenty of guided tours and sailing boats. It's especially romantic at night on a traditionally decorated wooden dhow along the Creek up to the beginning of the sea. Passing the Gold Souk everything shimmers in metallic shades, up to the spice souk which already makes you feel dizzy with its intensive aromas of cinnamon, incense and cardamom. The huge skyscrapers and palaces along the riverside take you back to reality. But it doesn't matter, it smells seductively of orient and the Arabian dinner is waiting.
Those among you who prefer individual tours can chose the abras. The smaller sisters of the dhows take tourists to all imaginable spots from one side of the creek to the other. The motorised water taxis may not appear very trustworthy at first sight but that is a mistake. Lifejackets and first aid boxes provide for the guests' safety. If you're lucky and fast you can have one hour with the captain and abra all for yourself – for 20 euros.
