A runway connects the Sky-Train-Station “National Stadium” with one of Bangkok’s oldest shopping centers (year of completion 1985) which stocks almost everything one can imagine. Even though in the meanwhile modern – and prettier – shopping centers have been erected, MBK’s popularity never decreased. About 100,000 young Thais and tourists are populating eight floors daily and especially buy copies of quite good quality – bargaining is allowed! – or get a manicure, a neck massage and a new hairstyle. In between they fill their energy reserves with Crispy Chicken Rice (about 1 Euro) or a Sticky Rice filled with mango. And when an Asian boyband performs on the stage of the MBK once again, one can hear the girls’ screaming until the opposite Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre.
Advice: Tourists can get a special MBK tourist discount card on the information counter which allows for a discount up to 30 per cent.
