Amidst skyscrapers, roaring traffic and the many cookshops you don't expect such a jewel like this one: in a beautiful Victorian manor house the chef of the Blue Elephant follows ancient royal recipes (“Forgotten Recipes”). You also find popular Thai classics and modern innovations created by the chef.
The dishes are garnished and arranged in way that you almost wish to take the art work back home. Thus it's convenient that you can learn this art in the adjoined culinary school. The lessons start daily at 8.45am and 1.15pm and take half a day. First the cook takes all participants to the market. There the culinary trainees learn which ingredients to choose and where they come from. Then the actual cooking lesson begins: the chef demonstrates the cooking steps and afterwards he assists each student with their preparations for a four-course menu. At the end group sits down in the beautiful restaurant and eats their work. By the way: the dress code is smart-casual.
