Right next to the BTS station Thong Lo the widely popular Lim and her relatives run an apartment house for women. In the front yard of “Gunn's House” there is sort of a better street kitchen with roofed coffee shop and permanently installed benches and tables. The simple but excellent food costs 80 cents per plate, 1 euro with meat, respectively. The restaurant is always crowded with locals – despite the big competition around the venue.
“We have the best coffee in the area”, says Lim in a nearly perfect English (she studied in the USA) and points at a shiny coffee machine of an Italian brand. And it's true: the iced caffè latte tastes way better than at any Starbucks. The Gunn's House is the right address for all those who do not trust the street kitchens but yet search for an authentic Thai food experience.
