The city’s celebrities are happy – now designs by Cynthia Vincent are available in New York as well. Very rarely you could already find those in the shelves of the big fashion houses like Barneys New York, Bloomingdale’s or Saks Fifth Avenue. But now the fashion designer, who has a soft spot for Ethno-gimmickry, has opened her first flagship store in the US-capital of fashion.
Since the end of March 2011 Vincent welcomes trendsetters and fashion fans to her shop in Nolita (North of Little Italy), which is decorated with stuffed peacocks and mannequins with Amerindian headdress. Her creations range from the feminine fashion-line Twelfth Street to the edgy shoe- and handbag-collection. You can also find jewellery from flea markets of the West Coast in Vincent’s shop.
Vincent occupies herself with fashion since early childhood. In 1993 she established her first label St. Vincent. In 2003 Twelfth Street followed, in 2005 her shoe- and in 2009 her handbag-collection. Her most recent creation from 2010 is her own shoe-collection for department store chain Target.
