Perfectly designed and stylish – that's how the Mexican hotel chain Grupo Habita present their houses in Latin America. With their first hotel in the USA – the Hôtel Americano – they stick to their design concept. Designed by Mexican architect Enrique Norten in a minimalist style, the ten-storey building with glass-steel-facade houses 56 rooms and studios, a rooftop terrace with bar and pool that can be reached via an external elevator, a restaurant and two subterranean bars. The interior comes from Arnaud Montigny. His sources of inspiration were Japan (when choosing the beds) and of course Latin America. The latter becomes visible through the bedspreads in the rooms made of alpaca or the Mexcian Mezcal at the bar.
The soft opening is scheduled for July 2011. In September the hotel starts its business in full swing. Rooms starting from 325 dollars.
