The name couldn’t describe this location any better: Planten un Blomen (‘plants and flowers’) is a park located in the centre of Hamburg. Divided up into a number of different worlds the park represents an oasis for the city dwellers. Visitors can recharge their batteries in the Japanese Garden, where tea ceremonies are held twice a month.
It’s somewhat louder in the family area: there’s always plenty of fun to be had in the playground. The lake draws in a broad spectrum of visitors on summer evenings as the water becomes a stage for classical music and light concerts. What else? Exercise on the roller-skate paths, herbology in the Apothekergarten, romance in the rose garden, sweating in the tropical greenhouse and the tournaments on the mini-golf course.
