It's the only institution in Switzerland and one of the few in Europe that has devoted itself to the historical and contentual reworking of concrete, constructive and conceptional art. There's talk of Haus Konstruktiv. Initially it was founded as the office of the foundation for constructive and concrete art in 1986 in the Zurich district of Seefeld. Soon the house moved into the former ewz substation Selnau, witness of Zurich industrial architecture.
On 1200 square metres of exhibition space, divided into five storeys, you can see changing exhibitions and permanent art like the Bijoux from the own collection, as well as the “Rockefeller dining room” by the Swiss artist Fritz Glaner. Art by Peter Roehr, Rita Ernst, Nelly Rudin and Harry Fränke can and could be spotted here. Beside exhibitions also lectures and conversations with artists take place on a regular basis.
