It’s small, round and melts on your tongue. It’s called “tender Makrönchen” with most exquisite filling, living on cream, butter and eggs. Have you guessed already? We are talking about Sprüngli chocolate, of course. Since 1836 the tradition has offered exclusive treats to all those with a sweet tooth.
Everyone has eaten “Luxemburgerli” already, having been aware of it or not. These are the thick cookies with thick filling, which are, however, smaller than the usual cookie and therefore more exquisite: cookies deluxe, so to speak. The “Luxemburgerli” comes with chocolate, vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, champagne or raspberry fillings. And usually they come with the noblest packing at prices up to 60 euros but that, as we all know, only increases the craving.
The successful liaison of confectionary and Switzerland heightens euphoria. Who doesn’t dig in is either on a diet or hasn’t grasped the meaning. You won’t be able to miss it anyway: There are some 10 Sprünglis in Zurich, all of them luring you into sweet temptations.
