Frankfurt – Metropolis on the Main
Frankfurt is a metropolis, but a cosy one. It's at the cutting edge, but not as hectic as many other major cities. Frankfurt is dynamic and always in motion, yet you can always find places of peace and tranquillity in the midst of the bustle. And a glass of apple wine. Many visitors associate the most imposing skyline in Germany with Frankfurt, which is why the dynamic financial and trade fair capital is often nicknamed “Mainhattan”. Yet the city has a lot more to offer than bourse and banks. There are comfortable pubs in the heart of down-town, historical sights and tranquil squares. No doubt, the city is very proud of their most famous son, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, but also of the Kaiserdom (Imperial Cathedral) and Paulskirche (St. Paul Church) – the cradle of German democracy. In and around Frankfurt there is a lot to discover, to enjoy arts and culture, to experience history and find hidden gems. So all visitors who come with an open heart and a curious mind will always enjoy coming back to the metropolis on the Main.
