If you go sightseeing in Frankfurt, you won't be able to miss the Römer. The patrician's house with the typical stepped gable became the City Hall of Frankfurt as early as 1405 – and it continues to be the seat of the respective mayoress or mayor to this day. Since the Middle Ages, elections of kings and emperors as well as their coronation took place here, which is why the Römer is one of the most significant building in German history and one of Frankfurt's landmarks.
The building's architecture with its characteristic neo-Gothic gable and the balcony is very interesting. If you are romantic and in love, you can marry in the emperor's hall. All others should at least visit it.
