The Vienna-Schwechat Airport is located 19 km outside of the city centre. The quickest way to get there is with the CAT, the “City Airport Train” (www.cityairporttrain.com). It takes about 16 minutes to the centre and costs 9,- euros. Despite the speed, the CAT is only recommended when it is too early or too late for the S-Bahn (suburban train) to run. With a ticket price of 3,60 euros (2-zone-ticket) this is less than half the price and takes you to Vienna city centre or the Praterstern almost as fast. Other alternatives are the Vienna Airport Lines, which run from the airport to the Schwedenplatz, to the Süd- and Westbahnhof and to the UNO City; a ride costs 7,- euros. The flat charge for a taxi should be around 33,- Euro.
